Reseña crítica: Paleta de Sigma "Defining eyes" / Review: Sigma "Defining eyes" Palette

Como pueden ver ya estoy volviendo poco a poco a actualizar mis sitios, principalmente mi canal de YouTube y este espacio que no sólo son míos sino también de ustedes. Mientras el trabajo no está tan pesado me puedo escapar un ratito para sumergirme de nuevo en este mundo que me fascina y supongo que a ti que estás leyendo esto, también.

As you guys can see I'm venturing again into the things I love which is you and, the blog and YT, something that it's not only mine but yours as well. As long as my job isn't killing my butt I take time off of it to make this or to edit a video while I'm here so I can talk to you.

Hoy quiero contarles acerca de la paleta de Sigma "Defining eyes" que salió a principios de diciembre de 2012. Yo les comenté que la quería comprar y así lo hice. Esta paleta es una colaboración de la famosa gurú Tiffany quien decidió incorporar diferentes elementos en una sola paleta sin que fuese toda neutral y como el nombre lo indica, que fuese versátil para cualquier ocasión y que tuviese el poder de resaltar CUALQUIER forma de ojos que tú poseas.

Today I want to tell you more about a Sigma release from a few months back, to be precise December 2012, I talked about this palette and told you that I wanted it so bad so I purchased. This palette is a collaboration between Sigma and the famous beauty guru Tiffany  who decided to incorporate different elements into one palette without it being too neutral but making it very easy to use and also for any ocassion making it possible for you to enhance your eyeshape perfectly.

Realmente es una paleta que suena como la perfecta y antes de que empiece a contarles lo que opino de ella dejen que les cuente un poco sobre el servicio que me ofreció Sigma, alguna de ustedes ya se habrá enterado si me siguen en mi cuenta de twitter.

It really sounds like the perfect palette, huh? Before I start telling you guys what my thoughts are I need to tell you all about my first shopping experience at Sigma, some of you know how it went if you follow me on my twitter account.

• Experiencia de compra a través de la web de Sigma

Mi compra se realizó sin ningún problema y eso lo pueden ver en el siguiente vídeo que les muestra cómo realizar su primer compra con ellos. Una nota que les puedo dejar aquí es que sí aceptan pagos con tarjeta de débito (es algo que siempre me preguntan).

Para no hacerles el cuento muy largo, mi primer paleta no llegó y no fue problema de Sigma sino que algún asunto sucedió en aduana y como pedir en diciembre es demasiado arriesgado debido al volúmen de paquetes que se envían y recibe, etcétera seguramente no lo dejaron pasar, se extravió o algo por el estilo pasó, total que terminé esperando casí dos meses y al primer mes hice mi reclamación con Sigma, primero me habían dicho que me cobrarían el envío express y yo les dije que si me querían cobrar prácticamente quería la devolución de mi dinero y fue entonces que accedieron a reenviarme sin ningún costo y así fue como llegó mi paleta a su destino una semana después.

So, long story short, the first time I ordered it my package got lost and it wasn't a Sigma issue it was due to the amount of packages that customs handle since december up until middle january, something definitely happened there so I waited for nearly two months and when I realized the first one had passed I filed an issue through an email to Sigma and they wanted to charge me for resending the palette so I told them If they wanted me to pay I wanted my money back, so they agreed to resend me the palette with no additional charges, YAY, so thats how my palette got home a week later.

• Empaque / Packaging

Como todos los empaques de Sigma son algo grandes, este no es la excepción y no los culpo, metieron delineadores en gel ahí y bueno, en algún lugar tenían que venir, la verdad es que me encantan aunque no son muy amigables para viajar.

As some of you might know with Sigma packaging, they are a little bit big and this one is no exception to that rule and I don't blame them, they put gel liners in there so they had to be in somehow and to be honest althought they are not travel-friendly, i love them.

Así fue como llegó la paleta, protegida con la clásica bolsa burbuja y el sello que cierra esa bolsa.

Viene en un empaque con el frente de la paleta grabada que se desliza para revelar el producto y en esa ocasión por mi compra dentro de los primeros días del lanzamiento de la paleta me obsequiaron una brocha para delinear, la E05.

This is how the palette came, protected with the classic bubble wrapping. The first part slides off to reveal the palette, because I purchased this one the first days of its launch they gifted me an eyeliner brush, the E05.

• Contenido / Content

Como pueden ver, la paleta viene con 8 sombras en diferentes tonalidades y acabados; un delineador doble, una brocha doble y dos delineadores en gel.

As you can see this palette comes with 8 eyeshadows in different colors, finishes; a double pencil eyeliner, a double brush and two gel liners.

Aquí se ve claramente la diferencia de tamaño y he de confesar que también de empaque, mientras que el de MAC y Bobbi Brown vienen en un tarro de cristal, los de Sigma vienen en uno de plástico que no se ve ni se siente tan elegante como los otros

Here you can see the difference in size and I must confess that also packaging wise there are some BIG difference being that the MAC and Bobbi Brown ones come in glass jars and the Sigma ones in a plastic one that doesn't look and feel as elegant as the others

El delineador negro tiene como nombre "Blackout" y tiene muy buena pigmentación

El delineador café se llama "Chocolate" y es mi favorito porque es café y lo comparo mucho con el tintaline de Bissú

Hace ya un mes y una semana que no escribo por acá y bueno, no es porque no quiera hacerlo sino porque siempre que tengo la intención de hacerlo tengo mil y un cosas por hacer pero hoy quería comenzar con el lanzamiento de esta paleta que desde que yo la vi la quiero principalmente por el rubor e iluminador y así probar la calidad de los productos de Sigma que día a día van introduciendo más cosméticos a su línea.

It's been a month since I did my last post and it's not because I don't want to write but because whenever I'm up to it, something comes up, anyways today I have a little bit of time to write this as fast as I can. This palette just launched today and I've known a lot about this palette since IMATS LA which was on January but there weren't many posts about this because it was not on sale at the time, so now I bet there will be a ton of reviews so I can make up my mind and buy it which I might do haha. 

Ya muchas sabrán del guante para lavar brochas que lanzaron hace poco y de la polémica que causo, he visto que muchas personas ya encontraron una herramienta similar y a un precio muchísimo más barato así que vale la pena probarla.

As some of you know Sigma also released a tool for washing your makeup brushes which resembles an oven glove, this thing caused a lot of noise around and I've seen girls compared it to cheaper alternatives so we might as well pass that on since its not really a big deal, when people have the time to invent a brush washing machine I'll be AMAZED, but not now haha.

Lo que yo quiero es probar esta paleta por los colores que tiene y, principalmente por el iluminador en formato gloss que, quiero creer, puede ser la competencia del High Beam de Benefit. Todo en el mundo de la cosmética compite y esta paleta no es la excepción, menos cuando tenemos todos los lanzamientos para la primavera en tiendas esperando por nosotr@s. Entonces comenzaré:

What I really want to try out is this little palette, full of color, perfect for spring time and also I see this one working over the summer, that illuminator looks like would be a good dupe for High Beam or something that will be a lot like that one. So this is part of the 2013 Spring Collection by Sigma, let's peek into it:

Esta paleta contiene sombras con tonalidades muy vibrantes y primaverales, perfectas para primavera y verano, incluso como para utilizarlas como delineador en la línea inferior para tener un color de acento en nuestro maquillaje y olvidarnos un rato de los cafés y negros. Tiene 8 sombras, un delineador doble en tono azul eléctrico y café y un iluminador líquido.

This palette has some beautiful vibrant shades, some springy like and others summery like, you can even use them as liners for that POP of color that we all need so we can forget about brown and black for a while. It has eight shadows, a double end eye-liner pencil and a liquid highlighter.

¿A poco no te parecen bellísimos los colores que tiene esta paleta? No es la típica neutral y tampoco trae el clásico tono en rosa sino que se va un poco por las sombras cálidas pero no profundas y juega mucho con el color en tonos durazno, lavanda/pastel, azul eléctrico y un verde imprescindible, especialmente si tus ojos son color café o marrón.

Dont you think this palette has beautiful shades? It's not the typical neutral palette and it doesn't even feature that classic pink shade for spring, its more of a warm toned but not deep and that gorgeous pop of color which ranges from peachy pastely lavander blueish greenish goodness haha, I just love the look of it, especially if you have brownish or hazel eyes.

 El complemento de la paleta es un rubor, el lápiz doble y el iluminador, ahora no incluyeron ninguna brocha pero creo que es algo bueno porque en todas las paletas siempre incluyen brochas y no veo nada más que te ayude a tener una paleta perfecta para viajar estas vacaciones y esta lo tiene, un rubor natural un iluminador y los lápices que son imprescindibles.

The things that make this palette a complete one are the double pencil, the illuminator and of course the blush which is a beautiful shade of peach, it doesn't have any brush but who needs any, every Sigma Palette has a brush so I'm a little bit relief that they did this instead so this would make a really great travel palette for spring break, dont you think?

Aún no he hecho la compra de la paleta pero estoy pensando seriamente que sí sería una buena adquisición, además las paletas que tengo de Sigma no me han decepcionado pero creo que esta será una buena adición a mi colección.

Hoy les traigo la reseña escrita de las brochas RKXN, después de ya probarlas por 2 meses puedo decirles con seguridad y confianza que estoy enamorada y es MUY probable que estén dentro de un sorteo. Today I have a brush review about RKXN brushes, after having them for 2 months I can honestly tell you that I'm in love, it's very likely that I'll put them in a giveaway soon. Como ya he dicho en el vídeo, tengo mis brochas favoritas y no las he cambiado, la brocha de domo y la de punta son aún mis MUST y en un segundo les ratifico el porqué.

Realmente no necesitas muchas brochas esenciales para armar un kit personal muy respetable (o correctito), las básicas y te ahorras de andar lavando brochas y gastando agua (ha ha ha).

As I said in the video, I have my favorites from this kit and I haven't changed them, the dome brush and the pointy one are my MUST, in a bit I'll tell you why.

You don't really need THAT many brushes for your personal use, you just need some basic ones and you'll save yourself some time from washing them and spending water (ha ha ha)

That's how all the brushes came in, in this gorgeous little red bag with a bow.

Cada brocha llegó con un protector para protegerlas del polvo, todo maravillosamente cuidado a detalle.

Each brush came with a plastic protector, every little detail taken care off.

Mis favoritas son la que está en segundo lugar de izquierda a derecha y la última en el mismo orden, sin ellas no puedo vivir, además, la última brocha últimamente la he utilizado para perfilar y creo firmemente que tendré que pedir otra para usar una con el propósito de perfilar y otra para iluminar, maravillosas.

My all time favorites are the one that's from left to right in second place, and the last one, in the same order, I cannot live without them and that last one I have used it to contour and highlight and its AMAZING, I might buy another one so I can have one for countour and the other one for highlighting purposes.

Me olvidé de varios productos a los que les tengo que hacer mención.

El bronzer de NYC en el tono "Sunny" fue el bronzer que más utilicé y ni siquiera parece que lo he usado, de verdad que me sorprende, es un tono maravilloso, aún no he encontrado otro que lo sustituya y si lo hago les haré saber.

During the filming of the video I forgot to include some of my favorites because I left them on my vanity haha, silly me.

This bronzer by NYC in "Sunny" was a shocked to me because I never expected it to be that good even tho I read reviews about it so I had to go get it and see for myself and thank GOD I did because I love it a lot, I haven't found anything that can substitute this one but when I do you'll be the first to know. 

Los labiales de MAC fueron mi descubrimiento en el 2012, mi primer labial fue Creme d' nude, maravilloso tono del que me enamoré desde el primer momento en que lo ví y de su formula también, es el que más he usado, y sin duda "Reel Sexy" de la Colección Reel Sexy fue de los más amados y no me lo quiero terminar por miedo a no encontrar un dupe o que no lo repromuevan, sin duda es de mis consentidos.

For fave lippies I forgot to mention this two MAC one's that I've worn a whole lot and you can tell by the look of the bullet. My first purchase was Creme d' Nude, I fell in love with it the minute I saw it, and it's formula which is a Cremesheen as well, you can see that I've worn it a lot, and with no doubt my second favorite has to be Reel Sexy from the Reel Sexy Collection and it was well loved and I do not want to use it anymore because I'm afraid I'm never going to see it again since I haven't found a dupe for it YET, I'll be waiting for it to be repromoted so I can buy 10 of this haha ok, maybe just 2 more :D

Labial MAC - Reel Sexy (Edición Limitada/Limited Edition)

No imaginé que esta sombra de Avon fuese a convertirse en mi favorita cuando llegó, fue una sombra multipropósito que compré especialmente para iluminar y la amé, de tanto usarla y cargarla por accidente la tiré pero aún luce muy bien y es bastante amada.

I never imagined that an Avon eyeshadow was going to become a favorite of mine when I got it, I use it for a lot of things, mainly as a highlighter and I love it, that one traveled a lot with me soooo one day it just fell and broke a bit but it's still good and it's well loved.

Los rubores que no mencioné en el vídeo fueron los de Sleek y particularmente este trío en el tono "Lace" que a pesar de que no se nota la verdad es que lo he usado bastante, y no se nota porque la pigmentación es tan buena que de verdad tomas muy poco producto para aplicarlo, estoy a la espera de un nuevo trío y de verdad que estos me durarán la vida entera, los amo.

As for the blushes that I forgot to mention on my video there were three in one palette which is the Sleek Palette in Lace with those 3 amazing beautiful colors, two mattes and one with very fine gold flecks thats absolutely amazing and  it's clearly a good dupe for NARS Orgasm. It might not look like I have used them but its because you only need so little because, yeah, a little goes a long way with those super pigmented blushes, they are well worth it and they are not even that expensive so go get you some!

 

 Mis favoritos no serían favoritos sin mencionar a las famosas Color Tattoo de Maybelline que fueron mi amor, como prebase para sombra, como simples sombras, realmente es que son MARAVILLOSAS y aunque no a muchas les gustó este tono la verdad es que yo lo amé y lo seguiré amando.

My favorites wouldn't be favorites without mentioning Maybelline Color Tattoos that were my true love as an eyeshadow base, as simple eyeshadow because they are AMAZING and althought not so many were fans of this gold one the truth is that I loved it a lot and you can see I've dipped in haha.

 

Y ahora vamos con los favoritos por categoría, no voy a explicar mucho al respecto porque ya lo he hecho en el vídeo.

Mis productos para el cabello favoritos como siempre el protector de calor de Tresseme que siempre es un constante, y la fórmula de los shampoo's Sedal cambió bastante y me agradó mucho el Sedal Liso.

My favorite hair products as always Tresseme heat protectant spray had to be there, its always there tho, and the formulation of Sedal's shampoo has really improved so thats why I'm including them because they really surprised me.

Como si no tuviese suficientes labiales favoritos aquí les muestro dos lipbutters, dos labiales de revlon, tres labiales de bissú y, finalmente 4 labiales de Moon Amie (puede leer la reseña aquí)

As if I didn't had enough favorite lipsticks here I have more, two lipbutters, two revlon ones, three from Bissú which is a mexican brand, and 4 Moon Amie that are also from a mexican brand commanded by only one girl at the moment (you can read the review for those lipsticks right here)

Para el rostro BB cream fue lo que más utilicé este año, mi polvo favorito al contrario de lo que muchas piensan no es uno de color porque aún no encuentro mi favorito así que de momento el Fix&Matte de Essence lo es y para rubor, nuevamente Bissú 02 en Arena (que es el nuevo nombre de los rubores que también tienen nuevo formato y pronto se los mostraré).

For my face the one and only thing that I used the most was BB cream, my favorite powder wasn't a colored one because I haven't found one for my needs so in the mean time Fix&Matte de Essence will do, for blush again a Bissú product number 02 in Sand (Arena in spanish) (which is also the new name that those blushes have and I'll soon show them to you).

 

Para los ojos no es sorpresa que el primer de ELF haya sido mi fascinación junto con el jumbo de Sharisse que de ese quiero como 10, los tintaline de Bissú que compiten muy bien con los 24/7 de Urban Decay, dos sombras más de Bissú en el tono "Marfil" y "Chocolate", un cuarteto de sombras de Starry y una paleta de Nyx "Nude on Nude", así como el lápiz para cejas de Catrice en "Date with Ashton", máscara de pestaña favorita para la noche, Stiralash de CyZone y Céramidas de IM para el día, además por su contenido de aceite de hueso de mamey fortalece y nutre las pestañas.

As for the eyes its important to say that ELF eyeprimer was a shocker, I really works well, it might not be the best primer out there but it does perform quite nicely on the eyes, also that Sharisse jumbo that has skin color its amazing, you can get it in México City I dunno if someone in the States would be able to get it but its amazing, not waterproof but for a daily basis works good, two more shadows from Bissú have to be "Marfil" and "Chocolate", a little palette from Starry and one from Nyx "Nude on Nude"; Catrice brow pencil in "Date with Ashton" became a favorite as soon as i tried it on, for mascara I'd say CyZone Stiralash for night out and Ceramidas by IM for everyday use because of its natural ingredients such as bone mamey oil that nurture the lashes and makes them stronger.

 

 Los esmaltes de uñas fueron dos de Collection que no tienen nombre, el primero para otoño, el segundo para verano, el tercero para otoño también fue el "Velvet Rope" de Revlon Colorstay, para primavera y algo del verano "For Audrey" de China Glaze y para primavera completamente "Touch of Mauve" de Revlon.

Nailpolish wise i have here two of Collection but they do not have names, the first one you see for fall, the second one for summer, mostly mid summer, the third one for fall too, its "Velvet Rope" by Revlon Colorstay line, for spring and some days of summer "For Audrey" de China Glaze and for a spring color I had to choose "Touch of Mauve" by Revlon.

 

Y finalmente pero no menos importante, mi humectante labial favorito tiene que ser mi EOS en "Sweet Mint"

And last but not least, my favorite lip balm has to be my EOS in "Sweet Mint"

Ploombox Diciembre / December Ploombox

Como muchas de ustedes ya saben las cajas con suscripciones mensual recurrente, trimestral, semestral y, algunas, anual; ya llegaron a México.

La semana pasada hice mi pedido de la Ploombox, adquirí la suscripción mensual recurrente (puedes cancelar tu suscripción con 15 días de anticipación para que no te hagan el cargo a tu tarjeta de crédito/débito), y el día de hoy jueves llegó a mi domicilio. As most of you know monthly suscription boxes have arrived to México.

Last week I purchased my PloomBox, I payed for the monthly suscription and this one can be cancelled 15 days before so they don't charge it in your credit card. 

My box arrived today, if you want to see it in more detail you can watch my vídeo on YouTube and while you are at it, suscribe.

El empaque está hermoso, venía con un listón blanco y una tarjeta con la leyenda "Feliz Navidad" que lindo detalle, de entrada se ve que se toman la presentación muy enserio y que, además, le ponen empeño y esmero a los detalles, kuddos al equipo de Ploombox.

Lo que a mí me enamoró para suscribirme fue el empaque, ya saben que estoy loca/obsesionara por el verde menta, turquesa, etcétera, por eso me ganaron.

The packaging is what draw me to buy it, it came with a white ribbon and the leyend "Merry Christmas" it was a nice little detail, you can tell that they take their time into those things which is most appreciate it, kuddos to Ploombox's team.

Aunque el papel por dentro fuese de un simple color blanco eso significa que tampoco saturaron de tanto color la caja, con ello luce simple y elegante, eso sí, quizá agregarle un listón dorado le hubiese dado un tono algo navideño (mi opinión).

Althought the wrapping paper was white and simple it shows that they didn't want to make it look so scandalous but more neat and classy, maybe a touch up of gold for the season would've been a nice thing, in my opinion.

La tarjeta venía por la parte del frente con la siguiente leyenda:

"Queridas PloomFans:

Navidad. La propia palabra llena nuestros corazones de alegría. No importa cuántas prisas tengamos, los regalos navideños por comprar y las felicitaciones que nos quedan por hacer. Ojala pudieramos meter el espiritu navideño en una caja y abrirlo cada ves que deaseamos. Por eso PloomBox creo lo más cercano, el kit perfecto para consentirte en estas fechas!!! En esta caja encontraras todos los productos necesarios para darte ese apapacho.

The front card came with the next leyend:

Aún no he probado ninguno de los productos pero se ven muy bien, la caja que escogí fue la mensual de $189.00 pesos mexicanos, es muy seguro que cambie mi suscripción a una de tres meses para probar las otras cajas y decidir si vale la pena o no quedarme con el servicio, de momento no estoy descontenta pero sí hubieron cosas que se pudieron mejorar, si quieres saber más al respecto puedes ver mi vídeo haciendo clic aquí.

I still haven't tried any of the products but they look really good, the box that I picked was the monthly one, and it costs $189.00 mexican pesos, that in dollars would be around 15 dlls. Its possible that I change my suscription to the three month one to try and see if it's really worth it, as of right now Im pretty happy although I think there are some things they could've improved.
